First of all " Who is Endrjuss" ?

I'm a young 18 year old man  from Poland. I also like making beats.

What is the main piece of gear you use and why ?

The main piece of equipment I use is a PC computer. Probably not the most ideal gear but I try to manage and so far it has served me well. In more detail I work with reason as my sampler, at times I add FX and stuff. That's pretty much it. With time I am thinking of switching to MPC therefore I shall say no more about my PC secrets  J

"Sample based" beats vs. "played from scratch" beats ... where do you stand ?

Personally I got nothing against the "played from scratch"beats , nonetheless I am definitely more into "sample based" work. I take great pleasure in sampling, I enjoy making sampled and humorous beats..I am havin’ fun digging, cutting and splicing..I find that music played from scratch has a bit of superficial quality to it…therefore I fancy the unique sound quality found in samples.

Why do you think yours was the second top winning beat of BB005?

I think my beat came second, cause of its complexity and due the fact that I changed the overall tone of individual chops. I played with pitch searching for that optimal melody and sound.
The outcome was unconventional but interesting. I was trying to change the mood of the source you guys provided into something more upbeat and happy if you will.
I have no idea how people were feeling it, but me personally when I listen to it I smile and imagine a
Pokahontaz chick having a swim or something..LOL

Whose beat of BB005 would you see win the contest? What were your top 3 picks?

It is hard to say. There was a lot of nice beats…but I would point towards ParYen ‘s beat. He kept his heavy , dark style and worked the sample in a remarkable manner. Sabama’s beat was definitely hot. I was digging the heavy drums in Dasses’a beat, especially his snare. Also I felt f1zZ beat, but it could have been a bit louder, some of his transitions are superb. My top 3?  Most definitely Par Yen plus 2 others.

How much time do you spend on your music, how many beats per week/day do you make ?

I would say I spend a lot of time on beats, but it is hard to say how much really... At times I may sit on a beat for hours, only to spend some other week without touching anything. In the past I would give more time to getting something done, now things go faster and more spontaneous…and I find it works better. I am really diggin making shit of out some randomly found samples. ..whatever comes my way  I sample a minute or so. Later on , some crazy, funny, rad things happen.

When did your production start to happen ?

I started 3 years ago or so…excluding the time when I played with complete loops and stuff. But only recently I discover that whatever I produced say a month ago I can still enjoy today. Hence I think I am heading in the right direction.

What are you working on presently ?

These days I am just pushing beats without thinking whether it may transform into a project or an album. It is the moment I strive for, spontaneity, some kind of inner instinct. It does not matter whether the listener will consume it as a packaged product or simply will click play on my website or even simply pass on it. I have not done any “MC joints” lately, so I am kind of excited to make records with some local cats…just some random individual tracks, no albums or whatever. Generally I am exploring the world of sound and if ever I find something fresh and will let the world know.

What is more important : diggin skills or the chopping skills?

In my opinion both these aspects are crucial. Ideally you could merge both talents and just use it to your advantage. There are lots of people who manage to do both pretty well. There is no need to break it down too much.
